Palantir's June quarter shows growth with operating substance
The second fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-six paired expanding revenue with stronger operating economics, but consolidated results leave important questions about the underlying demand.
Palantir's second fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-six matters because growth and profitability moved together. Revenue increased against the same fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-five, while operating margin improved against that same period. The software business retained more profit from each revenue dollar as it expanded.
The practical question is what supports that performance. Palantir helps commercial and government organizations use data for analysis and automated decisions. The reported results demonstrate strong consolidated economics, but they do not identify which customers or platforms supplied the momentum.

1.What improved
Revenue and operating margin improved against the same fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-five. Both also improved against the preceding fiscal quarter. That is useful evidence of operating strength: sales expansion did not require Palantir to surrender a larger share of revenue to operating expenses.
For the reported second fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-six, operating cash flow increased against the same fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-five. Cash remaining after gross purchases of property, plant and equipment also increased against that same period. The business generated cash beyond its reported spending on those physical assets.
Operating cash flow covers the second fiscal quarter of 2026 and the twelve months ended June 30, 2026. Gross cash capital purchases and free cash flow cover the second fiscal quarter of 2026.
2.What disappointed
The economic caution is that consolidated net income is not a pure measure of software operating performance. Other non-operating income contributed to the quarter's earnings. That contribution is real, but it should not be treated as evidence that customers are paying more or that software delivery has become more profitable.
Gross cash purchases of property, plant and equipment in the reported second fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-six increased against the same fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-five. They remained comfortably covered by operating cash flow. However, this narrow investment measure does not establish the full cost of developing and supporting Palantir's products.

3.What drove the quarter
The observable driver is the combination of a larger revenue base and a higher operating margin than in the same fiscal quarter of twenty twenty-five. Together, those changes explain the stronger operating profit. The available statements do not isolate pricing, staffing costs or customer mix, so assigning the improvement to any particular cause would go beyond the evidence.
Foundry serves commercial clients, while Gotham serves government clients. Their role is to help organizations turn data into useful decisions. That gives Palantir a concrete business opportunity, but the company description alone does not prove customer retention or pricing power. Nor do consolidated results reveal which platform contributed most to the quarter.
4.What changes for the investment thesis
No prior published thesis is available for comparison. This quarter therefore supports an initial view rather than a claim that our opinion has changed. The initial assessment is positive: Palantir combines strong reported operating profitability with meaningful cash generation and substantial liquidity.
At the June fiscal quarter-end of twenty twenty-six, reported borrowing fields showed no current borrowings or noncurrent debt and capital lease obligations. That supports financing flexibility, although it does not eliminate other liabilities. This business assessment remains distinct from an entry decision based on the share price.
5.What we are watching next
Watch whether revenue growth remains accompanied by strong operating margins. More detail on commercial and government customers would help show whether demand is broad or concentrated. Evidence about customer retention would also strengthen the case for durable software revenue.
Keep quarterly operating cash flow separate from trailing annual figures. The cash-after-gross-property-purchases measure used here excludes property sales, intangible investments, leases and noncash commitments. It is derived from Massive's reported fields, not an issuer-defined free-cash-flow measure. Finally, monitor non-operating earnings contributions and the business implications of serving only entities in Western-allied nations.
